Concealed Carry

In 2004, Ohio passed a law allowing citizens to apply for a Concealed Handgun License. There are many requirements that must be met before a license can be issued. These include age and residency, fingerprinting and criminal background checks, and at least 12 hours of certified training.
The FBI maintains statistics on violent crimes in each state. Since 2004, the violent crime rate in Ohio has been declining. Many people attribute this drop to laws that say crime is illegal. I'm not sure what I think about that. Training costs can range from $50 to $250, depending on your trainer, and the permit application fee starts at $67. If you've lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, an additional $24 fee is required for an FBI background check. |
